Role Overview

As a Construction Crew Leader, you will work as part of a crew building landscape projects from start to finish. This role supports hardscape, softscape, irrigation, and general construction tasks and is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning new skills, and working as part of a tight-knit team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with landscape construction projects
• Install hardscape features (patios, retaining walls, steps, edging)
• Install softscapes (soil prep, grading, planting, sod)
• Help with irrigation installation and basic repairs
• Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment
• Safely operate hand and power tools
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
• Attention to details a must
• Contribute positively to team morale and job quality

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or landscaping is a must
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn insert – with attention to details
• Physically capable of demanding outdoor work
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely

Role Overview

As a Part-Time Irrigation Sprinkler System Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, start-up, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation systems. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on mechanical aptitude who enjoys working outdoors and helping homeowners protect their landscapes.

Hours are part-time and seasonal, with flexibility based on workload and weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform spring start-ups and fall blow-outs of irrigation systems
• Inspect systems for leaks, coverage issues, and efficiency
• Diagnose and repair sprinkler heads, valves, wiring, controllers, and piping
• Adjust system settings for seasonal watering needs
• Install new irrigation components as required
• Communicate clearly with homeowners regarding system performance and recommendations
• Maintain accurate service records
• Follow safety procedures and best practices on all job sites

The Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Summer Focus

    • Plant and maintain lawns, shrubs and trees on both residential and commercial sites
    • Install underground irrigation systems, paving stone walks and patios, retaining walls
    • Able to read blue prints and landscape drawings and assess and prepare sites
    • Operate and maintain a variety of equipment including trucks, trailers, skidsteers, tillers, sod cutters, weed eaters, chain saws and drills
    • Interact with customers to troubleshoot and solve landscape problems
    • Planning and organizing jobs, ensuring required materials are onsite and supervising 2-4 site workers on a daily basis.

  • Winter Focus

    • Snow Clearing and Ice Management

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in all facets of landscape construction including paving stone and retaining wall installation, sod, plant material, ponds and irrigation
  • Alberta Class 5 drivers licence, a safe driving record and a reliable vehicle
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Landscape Horticulturist Journeyman certificate preferred or a willingness to get certification
  • Capable of operating equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner

Compensation:

Salary, vacation and perks depend on qualifications of the applicant and will be discussed in the interview, but might include:
